Phase 4

Today we looked at the pictures we took. We still have some to take, but we're on the 'write' track. We have tickets for the categories; genre, theater, price, date, time. Now we have enough information to put a presentation together for next class. We will be presenting to two other classes, and will see how they will react to our collection. From there, we can decide what we need to add or eliminate.

We are still thinking about using stills from some of the movies, but we're not really sure how to incorporate it because we have a lot of movies.

Phase 3

We had to write about who our audience is and who the collector is. We came up with children and movie lovers/freaks. We decided that movie lovers was the best possible audience. This gave us more possible ways to categorize the movie tickets.

We gathered movie tickets from people we knew, from a couple different states.

Now we have to take photos of all of the tickets in different categories, containers and their personality. this will help us figure out what's more popular.

-auditorium number
-state (local/non-local)
-genre

We thought it would be interesting to take photographs of the theaters, local only, when we categorized the different tickets based on state.

We also had the idea of taking screenshots of each movie, or using their movie poster.

Phase 2

Today in class we commented on the other group's blogs to give our opinions about their collection ideas. Most people who commented on ours liked the ticket idea because there were more ways to categorize them than the store bags.

We've decided to ask other people for tickets. This will give us more categories.
-different states
-how the prices are different / how they've changed over the years
-the most popular genres
-how popular the movie was
-how they liked it
-how different the tickets look (regal, amc, film festival, etc)
-whether or not they like going to the movies now that there is redbox and netflix and the occasional online movies
-why they keep their tickets

Now we need to:

1) DEFINE AUDIENCE PERSONA
2) DEFINE COLLECTOR PROFILE + COLLECTION DEFINITION

Brainstorming

Plan A: Tickets

Today in class we discussed our possible collections. We decided that we were going to collect different ticket stubs from different people. Sporting events, movies, concerts, plays, amusement parks, etc. are all the types of tickets we will collect. From here we will categorize the tickets from place, time, price, why they went, who they went with and how they liked it. This will then tell us the type of personality they have and what they are mainly into.

We need to think about who our subject is going to be. Whether or not we are going to focus on just one person's personality based on the tickets we get, or focus on the group of tickets as a whole. It all depends on the amount of tickets we receive.

**We decided that we are going to focus mainly on movie tickets, that way it will be easier to categorize one type of ticket rather than a bunch of different event tickets. This way it will be less confusing and more clear to what our point is.

We still have a lot of different categories to sort out the movie tickets. As we collect them we will be able to figure out what is more popular to people now rather than a few years ago.

Plan B: Store Bags

We would collect a large number of bags from all different types of store and categorize them by the types of store, types of people (wealthy, student, children, thrift shoppers, mother/fathers, elderly), what they may have bought, how much they bought. This would also tell us what their personalities were.
